Is Pages Error 404 (Not Found) affect the ranking?
404 pages or pages that are not found it quite common on a website. Why? Because the Internet is dynamic and constantly changing from time to time. If there is a new article, there are also articles that were deleted .... and Google see it as something natural.
404 or 410 response code will affect only those pages only. Another page is returned in response to the 200 or successfully crawled will not get into trouble. In this case the ranking of that page will not be affected by the last 404 pages.
So Is Page Not Found (Error 404) has absolutely no effect?
If a website or blog we have some 404 pages, basically will have no effect in the Google search results to other pages. But that does not mean you can completely ignore the 404 pages. At least you should check whether the error did you intentionally or not.
If you accidentally delete a page, then it would not be a problem at all. But what if it is the mainstay of your pages and you have mistyped the URL in the link to the page. It may be that you will not get a long enough visit to that page, because visitors find pages 404 to close the page.
So what can be done to prevent this problem from page 404?
First, make sure there are no typos in the URL of all the links on your web page. You can use the facility to check page links in Firefox browser to do this. If no link is red, then it shows the link is not found.
Once you find the link is red, you need to confirm whether indeed this link you accidentally delete or error free typing the URL alone.
Second, if a link to a 404 error page that was accidentally deleted, it is a good idea to also perform the elimination of the index on Google through Google Webmaster Tools> Google Index> Delete URL. This prevents a lot of visitors come from Google to a page that has been deleted because it is still listed in the Google index.
This is to avoid the newly arrived visitors, but ran away. If enough of visitors who fled could affect the bounce rate is on your site. The higher your bounce rate will give undesirable effects on the SEO of your blog.
URL on Error 404 looks strange and not in a link on your page?
That means links to pages that are not found or 404 error is not coming from your web page. It could be someone trying to install your link but mistyped URL. Or there are other websites that automatically generate links that point to your domain but to a page that does not exist.
