VR is intended for the eyes, while listening to audio from the user view, still use conventional headphones. However, a startup out of Miami the Next Galaxy is developing 4D Ceekars Headphones, a smart headphones designed to bring new levels in the VR world, especially in terms of audio.
Such as the Oculus Rift VR headset and Gear VR obviously brings new levels of visual in terms of gaming and watching movies, but for the audio realm, no one has been able to do so. Actually, the last prototype of the Oculus Rift has added audio features, but its development is still a minor focus of the VR developer because they still focus on the visual. Hence there are many development needs to be done in the realm of audio and 4D Ceekars also fill that slot.
Using 4D Sound technology which has been patented, Ceekars 4D Headphones trying to offer surround sound system that feels more integrated in the visual environment, so it sounds more real. For example, gamers will feel a different sound depending on where they are moving. Voice will be heard louder and clear as it moved closer to the sound source, and the more slowly if the noise coming from behind a wall or door.
One other advantage is haptick feedback feature contained in the headband of the headphones. If you used to play games with a gamepad, haptic feedback in the form of vibrations which are responses from the game. In 4D Ceekars Headphones, users can feel the pressure and vibration based on sound intensity and distance. For example, feel the roar of the aircraft during takeoff, or rocket blasted off from the ground.
In the sales package, smart headphone comes with VR virtual terinpirasi in cardboard that belong to Google. Then there's also a wireless remote control so users do not interfere with the wiring. Although Ceekars intended for VR environment, voice technology and haptic feedback on offer can also be used to listen to music and watch video as usual.
4D Ceekars Headphones are available in two versions. The first is a version of the PC connection using a cable 2 meters long with a 3.5 mm audio jack and USB port for charging. The second is a mobile version with a microUSB port, Bluetooth connection up to 20 meters, and a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 6 hours of usage. Both versions are also equipped with a microphone that can be removed if you do not want to use.
4D Ceekars new Headphones will be available in July, at a price of $ 150 for the PC version and $ 199 for a mobile version
